Rockwell City, Dept of Health

Clinics will no longer be held in Rockwell City. Immunizations will be available at any time in the Dept. of Health office. Please call ahead before coming in to ensure the availability of a nurse.

1.  Schedule of immunization as recommended by Iowa Department of Public Health and American Academy of Pediatrics.                

Age:  2 mo.- DTP, inactivated polio, HIB, Hep B, Pneumococcal                

        4 mo-DTP, IPV, HIB, Hep B, Pneumococcal                                             

        6 months-DTP, IPV, Pneumococcal

         15 months-MMR7, DTap, HIB, Hep B, Varicella, Pneumoccal

         4-6 years-MMR, DTap, IPV

 2.  We require written consent of an accompanying adult.         .

 3.  Parent, please bring record of previous immunizations from any clinic attended.

 4.     Immunizations are also available anytime at the Calhoun County Dept of Health office. Please call for an appt.

 5.  Boosters for children entering school may be given any time after four years of age.

 6.  Hepatitis B is currently available to all VFC eligible children through age 18 years of age or younger at no cost. 

 7.  MMR can be given to anyone 18 years of age or younger at no cost.

 8.    Varicella is available at the Rockwell City office to children from 12 months through 18 years.

 9.  In addition to receiving immunizations, children should be seen by their doctor for well-child check-ups.  Contact your physician for an appointment.

 10. Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine is available for infants through 23 months.

Calhoun County provides all recommended vaccines including:  Diptheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis;  Polio; Measles, Mumps and Rubella; Haemophilus Influenzae B; Hepatitis B; Varicella, and Pneumococcal.  Adults may also receive tetanus.  All vaccines are offered to those that qualify for vaccines for child program at no cost.  However, donations are greatly appreciated.  No appointments necessary.  If you have any questions or concerns contact Calhoun County Department of Health at 712-297-8323 or 1-800-437-1273.

 Watch for immediate times and cancellations for clinics in your local newspaper or on your local radio station.  Clinics will be cancelled in towns where school is cancelled on scheduled clinic day due to inclement weather
